Argentina

A large and beautiful country, typically known for being the land of the traditional asados, gauchos, agriculture, mate, wine and the tango, is also identified as being a world class fly fishing destination where big wild Browns, Rainbows, Atlantic Land-locked Salmon and Brookies can make your trip unforgettable.

Trout and land-lock salmon were introduced in our rivers and lakes in 1904 and since then, their wild genes have remained intact. The adaptation of these fish was excellent, finding in our pristine waters an amazing habitat. Their numbers increased very fast, spreading to all our Andean river system......

Today, thanks to those visionary people, we can enjoy the " finest fly fishing in the world ".

Patagonia Argentina

With an approximate surface of 787.000 km2 (almost the third part of the total surface of Argentina), Patagonia is located at the southern corner of the American Continent. As a region, it includes the following provinces; Neuquen, Rio Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and Islands on the Atlantico Sur.

Located in Neuquen province, on the North West side of Patagonia Argentina, on the border of the Lanin National Park, San Martin de los Andes is our base and home town.

The geography, pleasant weather, wild life, crystal clear lakes and rivers, and the low population areas, make this area a great destination for the outdoors lovers; and of course, a paradise for those who love fly fishing.

How to get here....

When you are coming from outside Argentina your first stop is Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport, about 40 minutes away from the main Metroplex (Capital Federal). Most of our anglers flight overnight, so your arrival to Argentina will be somewhere between 6:30 a.m and 9 a.m.

The flights to Patagonia area depart from the domestic airport (Aeroparque Jorge Newbery), so transportation between airports is required.

Today, Aerolineas Argentinas is the only flight carrier that comes into San Martin de los Andes 2 times a week ( Thursdays and Sundays). Chapelco is the name of our local airport.

From time to time Aerolineas Argentinas changes its "rules" so we have to update this info oftenly. Bariloche Airport is a very dependable option too, offering a good number of flight operated by different companies.

It takes about 2 hours of jet flight to fly from Buenos Aires to San Martin de los Andes or Bariloche Airport, where we will be there to meet you to start your Patagonia experience.

Bariloche also offers the opportunity to fly LAN Chile and many more available flights to choose from.

Depending your itinerary and the first place you will be lodging consider that the transfer by car or Van from Bariloche will be between 1 hour and 3 hours.
